1. General information
BioScribe provides academic calculators, study-planning tools and educational articles to help students understand calculations and organize their studies. The website is provided for general educational and informational purposes. It is not an official source of academic rules. It does not replace your institution’s regulations, advice from your school or academic adviser, professional advice, or the decisions of schools and examination bodies.
2. Accuracy of calculations and results
We aim to make our tools useful and accurate, and most of them show the formula and the working behind a result so you can check it. Even so, we cannot promise that every result will be free of errors or suitable for every institution. Institutions differ in ways a general tool cannot know, including:
- GPA and CGPA grading systems and scales.
- Credit-unit and credit-hour requirements.
- Grade boundaries and assessment weightings.
- Attendance policies.
- Semester calendars and academic dates.
- Rounding methods and other calculation rules.
Results also depend on the information you enter and on the assumptions built into each tool, which the tool pages explain. Check your entries, and verify important results against official records, handbooks, student portals or your academic adviser. Where a tool lets you enter your own scale, weights or holidays, use the rules that apply to you.
BioScribe’s tools are designed to help you understand and plan. When a number really matters, such as a graduation or scholarship requirement, your institution’s official figure is the one that counts.
3. No guarantee of academic outcomes
BioScribe can help you plan and make sense of academic information. It cannot guarantee higher grades, better examination performance, graduation, admission, scholarships or any other outcome. Outcomes depend on many factors, including your own effort, the requirements of your assessments, your institution’s rules and circumstances beyond the website’s control.
4. Educational and study-planning information
Study schedules, reading-time estimates, countdowns and study-time figures are general planning aids. They rest on the numbers you give the tool, and real performance can differ from an estimate. A generated schedule is a starting point, not a guaranteed best plan. Adjust any estimate or schedule to suit how you learn, your course requirements, your deadlines and your circumstances, and revise it as you make progress. Exam and deadline dates you enter are your own records, so check them against official announcements.
5. Your responsibility
When you use BioScribe, you are responsible for:
- Entering correct information.
- Reviewing the results a tool gives you.
- Confirming official academic requirements.
- Making your own academic decisions.
- Checking deadlines and important dates with authoritative sources.
6. External links and third-party services
BioScribe may link to external websites and resources that offer more information. We do not control those websites, and we do not automatically endorse their content, accuracy, availability or privacy practices. If you follow a link, the other website’s own terms and policies apply. The website also uses third-party services, such as analytics and web fonts, which our Privacy Policy describes.
7. Website availability and technical issues
The website, its tools or some features may sometimes be interrupted, contain errors or change, for example during maintenance or updates. We do not promise uninterrupted availability or error-free performance. Some tools can save entries in your browser, and those entries can be lost if you clear your browser data or switch devices, so keep your own copy of anything important, such as exam dates.
8. Advertising and affiliate disclosure
At the time of writing, the website does not display advertising and does not include affiliate links. BioScribe may display advertising, such as Google AdSense, or include affiliate links in future. If that happens, we will give the disclosures that are required, and advertising or affiliate content will not be presented as an endorsement by BioScribe. You can read more in our Privacy Policy and our Editorial Policy.
9. Changes to this disclaimer
We may update this disclaimer when the website, its tools or our practices change. The version on this page is the current one, so please check it from time to time.
10. Contact
If you have a question about this disclaimer, or think a result is wrong, please use our contact page. Nothing on this page limits any rights you have under the law that applies to you.
