Grading policies vary between institutions and courses. Letter-grade boundaries are not universal, so the example scale is only a starting point. Choose the custom option to enter your own.
Enter each grade with its minimum percentage and, optionally, its maximum. A score earns the highest grade whose minimum it meets. The starting values are only an example.
Add each assessment with its weight. Leave the score and total blank for work you have not completed yet. Weights should total 100%.
Enter your average on the work completed so far, the weight that work carries, the final exam weight and the overall grade you want.
You scored 45 out of 60: 45 ÷ 60 × 100 = 75%.
Your average is 74% on 60% of the course and the final is worth 40%. For an 80% overall grade you need 89%.
Assignments 85% (weight 20%), midterm 72% (30%), final 90% (50%): 17 + 21.6 + 45 = 83.6%.
These are examples only, not real grades or official policies.
